Those in Olympic construction jobs have helped the London 2012 Aquatics Centre roof to reach its halfway point.
Construction work on the 2,800-tonne roof started in April and has proved to be one of the most complex construction challengers at the Olympic Park site.
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) said that the frame of the roof, which is being assembled at the site on three concrete supports, will be finished later this summer.
David Higgins, ODA chief executive, said that the Aquatics Centre roof would form an important part of the east London skyline.
'The big lift one of the toughest construction and engineering challenges on the Olympic Park," he commented.
"It is showcasing the world class expertise delivering the venues and infrastructure for London 2012 and regenerating east London for future generations."
Once completed, the 90m-wide roof will sit on two concrete supports.
The ODA announced earlier this week that the Olympic Planning Committee approved plans for the 2012 Games' International Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre.
