Skanska has been given the Belfairs High School deal from the local borough council.
The building will accommodate children from the age of 11 to 18 years old and is located in Leigh-on-Sea in Essex. The new school will house 1,300 pupils and cover an area of around 11,000 sq m.
Skanska's responsibilities under the contract will be of a mechanical, structural, design and construction nature. The company has agreed to not only create new premises but assist in improving some of the older buildings.
It will also be dealing with external elements such as the drainage.
The deal itself is said to have a value of £28 million and has been awarded financial assistance by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).
DCSF exists to try and make the world one of the best environments for young people and children to develop in.
