Description
Our clientand#039;s Water andamp; Utility team has approximately 400 staff based throughout the UK. They provide water and wastewater services to a wide portfolio of clients with particular emphasis on the provision of support to the major Water Utility Companies. Their teams are engaged from business planning through to Project Delivery. They cover a range of inter-related disciplines and areas of work including, strategic planning, asset management, water and waste water, water resources and planning, dams and hydroelectric projects. They currently have openings for enthusiastic individuals to be part of our dynamic and rapidly growing team in the water and waste water sector. In their Manchester office, they require Principal Engineers with experience of either water or wastewater who are looking to work in a technically challenging environment. You will lead multi disciplinary teams delivering projects on time and budget and shall be required to provide technical guidance and support to engineers and technicians working for you. For the right applicant there will be opportunities for a wider degree of responsibilities and role within the Water and Utilities team. Training and Experience You must have good all-round technical expertise in water and/or wastewater design and the ability to progress schemes from inception to design completion. You will be able to demonstrate competence in the delivery of safe and efficient design solutions and will be able to provide technical leadership. You will have sound client liaison skills and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills. You should currently be leading a successful team of engineers including technicians and design engineers. You will be familiar with current industry best practice for your area of expertise. In particular, you will be familiar with current approaches to safe design and risk management and have experience of the application of industry design standards. As an experienced professional you should be a chartered engineer (ICE/CIWEM) or have equivalent experience. You should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team as well as providing technical direction in your area of expertise with the confidence of those working above and below you Other Essential Functions Experience of design and build projects. Experience of construction supervision. Good working knowledge of different contract types and procurement options. Able to produce well presented and accurate reports.
