Role objective:

Theintern will work under the guidance and supervision of R&D Researchers atUOP's R&D facility in DTV, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The intern will initially observe theresearchers as they operate pilot plants and perform analytical work on stateof the art analytical instruments. Oncethe intern demonstrates a complete understanding of the work procedures, he orshe will be given certain tasks to perform so as to attain hands onexperience. By the end of the internshipperiod, the intern should demonstrate a good understanding on pilot plantdesign, equipment and operations as well as operating analytical equipment suchas gas chromatographs.

Key Responsibilities

• Become familiar with and practice UOP laboratory safety procedures.
• Become familiar in safely handling chemicals in the lab.
• Learn about pilot plant design features and specialized equipment
• Learn about operation and troubleshooting of GC apparatus.
• Conduct literature search and read provided materials to become familiar in refining and petrochemical technologies.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• 4th year student in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• Prior experience in operating pilot plants and knowledge of analytical techniques is a plus
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are required
• Strong teamwork skills
